End of year concert
Words cannot begin to describe how amazing of a year it has been for the THHS Vocal Department. Our year was wrapped-up with one final concert amongst our Concert Choirs, Nightingales, and Chamber Choir. As the ensembles finished singing their festival music for their friends and family, the concert took a mini field trip and ended with an acoustical twist as all members sang Indodana in the parking garage to enjoy incredible harmonics of a truly emotionally piece of music.
Anaheim Heritage Festival
It was a day for the record books for our new and upcoming treble choir. After many long days of rehearsal, hard work, and dedication to their literature and teamwork, the Trabuco Hills Nightingales partook in their first WorldStrides state festival in our very own backyard in Anaheim, California. After competing at Fullerton College, they spent the day relaxing and celebrating an end to the festival at Disneyland for some much deserved time of fun and relaxation. We are proud to announce that not only did Nightingals win their competition category, they awarded the highest score of all ensembles throughout each separate category and were festival champions. As a result, they were invited to participate in the Festival of Gold and sing at Carnegie Hall in New York City in the coming years.
Nashville, Tennessee Festival of Gold
Our very own Chamber Choir took home a 97/100, gold rating in Nashville, Tennessee this past school year as they sang with some of the country’s top choral ensembles in Schmerhorn Symphony Center this past April. Their success in San Francisco in 2018 gave way to an invitation to sing in New York City at Carnegie Hall and the Festival of Gold concert series held in various locations throughout the United States. Our chamber singers traveled across the country with world-class dedication to teamwork and with a highly competitive selection of literature as they represented Trabuco Hills High School, Saddleback Unified School District, and California in a world-class concert of life-changing choral music.
Chamber choir and nightingales both earn superior ratings at scva
For the first time ever, our Chamber Choir and Nightingales ensemble both traveled up north to Ojai, California to participate in the Southern California Vocal Association Choral Festival at The Teacher School. The ensembles represented Orange County magnificently and performed their festival music as advanced musicians.

The THHS Chamber Choir was invited to perform and sing alongside with fantastic ensembles from the Southern California region at Azusa Pacific University and received fantastic comments and a workshop experience with Dr. Anton Armstrong. Needless to say, we had an amazing time in Azusa on a beautiful college campus.
Nightingales perform at the Aliso Women’s Festival
Our Nightingales opened their choral season at the Aliso Women’s Festival here is south Orange County. They performed marvelously alongside with many fantastic local treble choirs and supported an afternoon of beautiful choral literature, sung by strong and passionate young women. It is always such a pleasure to be a part of this local tradition each and every year.
Nightingales sing the Star-Spangled Banner
Nightingales sing the Star-Spangled Banner for our very own THHS varsity girls soccer game. It was a fantastic end before we all departed for winter break. It is wonderful to know that these amazing singers can perform amazing music in even the coldest of Southern Californian weather!
Winter Concert
The Trabuco Hills High School Vocal Department put on an amazing and successful winter concert this past December. With the help of several amazing parents, the theater was transformed into a winter wonderland and gave our students a venue worth performing in. Concert Choir, Nightingales, and Chamber Choir performed their concert sets for their family and friends and turned two sold-out concerts into standing-room only.
Chamber sings for the district board
Our THHS Chamber Choir was selected this year to sing for the SVUSD brunch at Coto de Caza Country Club. The students were extremely excited to show our board of education and district administration of their hard-work and dedication to creating good music. More so, these students did a fantastic job at showing our school district that Trabuco Hills High School now is home to a strong and continually growing vocal and choral department.
carols ‘round the lake
Our THHS Chamber Choir partook in Rancho Santa Margarita’s Carols ‘Round the Lake this year and were lucky enough to sing in front of the extremely beautiful Christmas tree to attract our local community, and listen to their favorite holiday carols. Over two hours, they sang beautiful music as many siped on hot cocoa and enjoyed a walk filled with the festive spirit.
Chamber works with sydney guillaume
The Trabuco Hills High School Chamber Choir had a once in a lifetime opportunity this past month and worked personally with Sydney Guillaume, the composer to their festival closer, Twa Tanbou. The ensemble worked incredibly hard to prepare this advanced selection of literature as the willingly worked through lunch-time and weekend rehearsals in order to gain the best experience possible with Mr. Guillaume. The students look forward to sharing his music during the coming festival season.
